Connie M. Cooper

Connie Cooper, 70 years old of Traer passed away on Sunday, May 3rd at Allen Unity Point Hospital. She was born in Waterloo on July 10, 1949 to John Beck and Evaan (Staack) Beck. On July 27, 1968 Connie was united in marriage to Jan Cooper. Jan and Connie made their home outside of Traer for 50 years, raising their children, crops and cattle.

Connie loved quilting and quilting trips with her daughter and friend. Most importantly she enjoyed her family, especially time spent at the lake and making and preparing meals for holidays and special events. Connie worked as a corporate secretary for Cooper Farms for over 50 years and made sure the men were well fed during field work. She had a talent for making her home warm and inviting by filling it with antiques, quilts, and family heirlooms. Connie also looked forward to Sunday dinners spent with her mom and siblings, and any time spent time with her grandchildren.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, a son; Jason, and a sister; Beverly. She is survived by her husband; Jan Cooper, a daughter; Michelle (Michael) Wilson, two sons; Ryan (Karina) Cooper and Aaron (Heather) Cooper, sisters; Sandy Naylor, Karen (Rick) Wagner, and Annette (Terry) Bagg, and a brother; Ray Beck, twelve grandchildren; Johnna (Austin) Haarsma, Joshua (Haley) Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Kendyl Wilson, Zachary Wilson, Cole Cooper, Cayd Cooper, Cable Cooper, Cortlyn Cooper, Aniston Cooper, Raelynn Cooper and Rory Cooper, and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the family and will be distributed to the American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association at a later date.
