Franklin D. Grimm

Franklin D. Grimm, 88, of the Iowa Veteran’s Home of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, September 20th at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. A family graveside is planned. The Overton Funeral Home in Traer, is assisting the family. 

Frank was an Army veteran with duty in Germany. In retirement and as a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home, he was a very active wood carver and landscape painter.

He is survived by his son Jeff Beebout of IA; step-son Dana (Sara) Rucker of Willmar, MN and step-daughter Jean Rucker-Borkenhagen; grandchildren Tara (Eldon) Lean, Mark Borkenhagen; great-grandchildren Koby Lean and Brett, Hope & Gage Borkenhagen of MO; brother, John D. Grimm of Iowa. Frank is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Annabelle “Ann” (Hushak) Rucker/Grimm; parents Norman Franklin & Mary (Cairy) Grimm; siblings Kathrine Smith, Alberta Utt, Norman E. Grimm, Mary Lucille “Marilou” Hergert, Richard M. Grimm, Clara Annabelle Hastings, Vera May O’Finney, Evangeline Lint and William J. Grimm; half siblings Margaret Maish, Leola Hubbard, Melbourne “Hap” Grimm and Lucille Kerkman.
