Juanita Brown Currell

Juanita Brown Currell was born on August 4, 1933, in Mount Ayer, the daughter of Frances and Mable (Lane) Hubbard. Juanita went to country school through the sixth grade, then attended school in Creston, and received her GED through Hawkeye Community College.  She was married to Donald Brown on November 26, 1951, in Des Moines.  He preceded her in death in 1992.  Juanita married David Currell on April 7, 2001 in Dysart.  He preceded her in death in 2018.  Juanita was a farm wife until moving to Dysart.  She then enjoyed running the Rec Center in Dysart and was a nurse’s aide at Sunnycrest Nursing home for over 24 years.  Juanita was proud of receiving her GED at age 64.  She enjoyed singing, working at Sunnycrest, playing with her grandchildren, looking forward to eternal life, and finding God as her personal Savior.  Juanita died at the age of 86 on February 15, 2020, at Premier Estates in Toledo.  She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; a stillborn daughter, Connie; two baby brothers; a baby sister; two brothers, Dean and Earl; and a sister, Loree.  Juanita is survived by two daughters, Debra Brown of Shellsburg and Sandra (Mike) Jantzen of Tama; four grandchildren, Steven (Cassie) Lorenzen, Samantha (Marty) Hook, Sara (Dustin) Montgomery, and Emily (Jake Crosby) Jantzen; four great grandchildren, Taylor, Trenton, Breanna, and McKenna; a great great grandson, Rowan; and two brothers, Dale (Beverly) Hubbard and Donald (Sheryl) Hubbard.

The burial will be in Dysart Cemetery.  Please direct memorials to Juanita’s family.
